Obituary of James Barber

Jim Barber, 58, passed away Monday, May 3rd, 2010, after a long and valiant battle with cancer. His passing was peaceful and he was surrounded by his loving family. A memorial service will be held at 11am, Thursday, May 6th, 2010 at Christ United Methodist Church, 410 North Holden Road, Greensboro, NC, with a reception following the service in the fellowship center. Jim was born on February 9th, 1952, in Huntington, WV. He married his best friend, Cathy, in 1973. They had their 2 boys, Chad and Cory in 1975 & 1976. He had an amazing 28-year career with Edward Jones Investments during which he was a CFP, regional leader, general partner and respected colleague. He served his community through his involvement with Kiwanis and served on the board of Camp Carefree. Survivors include his wife Cathy, sons Chad and Cory, daughter-in-law Heather and grandson Dax, all of Greensboro, and sisters Vicki Smith, Sharon DeEsch and Sallijim Struble. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, NC Children's Promise, or charity of your choice.
