To the family, I am saddened by the grief that you are feeling.
Knowing of God's embracing love for you, continue to look to him when " He will wipe all tears from our eyes, death, pain, and suffering will be no more. " - Revelation 21:3,4
He says death is an " enemy that will be brought to nothing. " - 1 Corinthians 15:26
How comforting to know that this will be a thing of the past and through Christ Jesus a resurrection for our loved ones.

Ever since I can remember in going to my sister, Donna's and Brother in-law Jack's house, I can remember John in his little printed white jersey pajamas as a child, sitting in the chair in the den watching t.v. with his bowl of cereal and later requesting a grilled cheese, always a grilled cheese. He ate so many, and that's all he wanted to eat. I remember Donna was worried because he didn't want to eat anything else, so she asked the doctor about it. The doctor wasn't concerned, and said, as long as he's eating it's ok. Donna always made him his request. As he grew, school took over his lounging days. His sister, Paula would look out for him going on the bus to school..Paula and John closest in age of the siblings would always be together. Paula and John loved to wrestle, and on occasion, and if you were visiting, you never knew at any given moment if they would strike and tackle you. Donna and Jack had three girls, Pam, Patti, and Paula, three names beginning with P, and when John came along, he was their boy they had been waiting for. They named him John Thomas Dunning the third. Just in case they were to have another girl, they were thinking of Penny, but John was born August 19, 1971. They were over-joyed. Now their family was complete. John was a good hearted guy. He loved to fish, and loved baseball. When he came to see us in Havelock, NC, he fished on the pier with Gary at Morehead City and loved it. I heard he went to a Red Sox Baseball Game with his Dad and Son, loving that, as well. When I called him on his birthday, he would tell me what a great birthday he was having as his kids, Thomas and Megan were taking him to dinner. He had such joy for his kids and family, I could hear it in his voice. And, I know the feeling is mutual because John is well loved, as well by his kids and family. John is my nephew and my daughter, Laura's cousin, and we will forever love him and treasure him in our hearts. God loves him so much that he gave His only begotten Son to die on the cross for him, and all of us, as well, to pay for our sins so that we can have everlasting life. God loves us, Jesus loves us, and The Holy Spirit loves us. Whatever The Lord does, he does in love. We have adversity sometimes in life, but joy goes hand in hand with it because He loves us, and whatever The Lord does, He does because He loves us. Sometimes love is silent, but when you see the beauty of God's Creation, the butterflies, the flowers, the birds and the beauty of life, you know He is with us, and our loved ones are in his care. And, just a note here, Children are of the greatest gifts we receive. I have a picture of John as a child when he was the ring barer in my wedding which I would love to post here if I can, May The Lord Bless each and every one of you, Love Dianne

I remember when my twin sister Amber and I had loose teeth at the same time. We were 5 years old standing in the kitchen at our Meema and Dadoo's house. John walked in and we were so excited because we could not wait for him to swing us around (we called it the airplane). We would argue who went first. We said he was our uncle with the cool motorcycle lol. But that day, before the airplane, he told us it was time to pull some teeth. He said he could pull them with his fingers or tie a string to the doorknob to the tooth and slam the door and our teeth would fly out. I said "will it hurt John" and he said "no, well maybe just a second" lol. He never did actually pull them but he loved joking around. He was so funny and we have many fond memories. This is one of the many memories we always think about when we think about our uncle. We Love You John, we still can't believe that you are not here on this earth but you are not gone. This is not goodbye, this is see ya later! Love always and forever, Brittany and Amber
