Obituary of Pearl Hester

Biography Kernersville-Pearl Lenora Hester, 92, passed away July 4, 2013 at the Annapolitan Assisted Living in Annapolis, Maryland. Funeral Services celebrating her life will be held 11:00AM Tuesday July 9, 2013 at the Pierce-Jefferson Funeral & Cremation Services Chapel. Interment will follow in the Kernersville Seventh-day Adventist Cemetery. A native of Forsyth County, Pearl was the daughter of the late Minnie Lee Ballard and Ed Ernest Hester. She was a Registered Nurse and retired from Sibly Hospital in Washington, D.C. Pearl enjoyed working and giving her patients a lot of attention and loving care. In addition to her parents, she also was preceded in death by her brothers June Hester, Norman Hester, and Marion Hester, sisters Bercha Hester, Mary Whitt, Dorothy Neal, and Lois Neighbors, and her son John Wayne Spivey. Survivors include her grandson John Spivey and his wife Jennifer of Edgewater, Maryland; granddaughters Shelley Cavanagh and James of Centerville, Maryland; great-grandchildren Jessica, Brendon, and Kelley; and also numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. The family will visit with friends from 10AM until time for the service on Tuesday at the funeral home.
