Obituary of Willa Collette

Biography Kernersville-Our Willa Mary Collette, 81 went on to her new journey March 8, 2011. She left this world with her family surrounding her in love at her son's home, and she passed peacefully into God's arms. Willa Mary "Billie" Collette was born in San Diego, CA on February 14, 1930, a Valentine gift, a daughter to the late Mary and Willard E. Holmes. She is survived by sisters Norma Sack and Verna Hollaway both who reside in CA; she was "Mother" to Alan E. Berstler, his wife Ronnie and grandson Adam of Kernersville, and daughter Carol Ann North and granddaughter Jill of Long Beach, MS; she was "Step Mom" to Jeff, Tanya, and Lynea Collette, whom she raised and guided after the loss of their Mother. She moved to NC due to Hurricane Katrina. Her new life brought a home and garden, flowers, birds, and veggies she grew and preserved. These were a few of her passions. She loved her home, her independence, cooking, old family pictures, poetry, and sharing memories. She loved the wildflowers and day lilies on our NC highways. In Kernersville, she loved her "Ravishing Red Hats" and our fun lunches and fellowship. Her art was, and is, a gift to all who are special enough to own one of her paintings. She gave her art to her friends and family and it hangs in many States, on many walls, and will serve proudly to remind us all of "Mom". Her talent, her gifts of beauty, and her forever "memories" to those she chose as a recipient. We pray she is enjoying a wonderful reunion of family and friends. Her guides in Heaven will include her parents, grandson Frank, grandparents and dear friends. A spark of light has left our world, and is now shining brightly in the Heavens. Mom now gets to paint with God. Shower his beauty on our earth, paint dear one, and find joy in your new life. Keep my Sunflowers sunny yellow for me, and I'll think of you every time I see one. A celebration of Mom will be held at a later date, please remember her with a gift to Hospice of Forsyth or the Shepherd's Center of Kernersville. Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.Pierce-JeffersonFuneralService.com "The family wishes to express deep thanks to all of the wonderful people of Hospice of Forsyth. They provided so very much in so very many ways. They stood by us helping to carry the load and lighten the burden. God Bless all of the angels of Hospice. We pray you never need them, but if you do, you will be blessed." Service Information
