Obituary of David Geddings

Biography Kernersville-David Leroy Geddings, 64, passed away Monday August 8, 2011 following an extended battle with Cancer. Funeral Services celebrating his life will be held 10:00AM Thursday August 11, 2011 at the Pierce-Jefferson Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in Mt. Gur Cemetery. A native of Darby, Pennsylvania, David was the son of the late Sarah Virginia Moore and Furman Leroy Geddings. He was a US Army Veteran serving in Germany during the Vietnam War. He was an employee with White Electrical Company in Durham. David was liked by all who knew him and he never met a stranger. He thoroughly enjoyed his hunting time and spending time with his family. Survivors include his loving wife of 30 years Julia Meriwether Geddings of the home; daughter Tarah Mayes Jefferson and Jonathan of Kernersville; son Jonathan Edward Mayes of Kernersville; sister Gloria G. Ferguson of Pocoquson, Virginia; niece Marie Alexander-Kehoe and Michael of Hayes, Virginia; nephew Timmy Ferguson and Dolores of Smithfield, Virginia; and a host of extended family and friends. The family will visit with friends from 6-8PM Wednesday evening at the funeral home.
