Obituary of Frances Brown

Biography Winston-Salem-Frances "Sissy" C. Brown, 77, is now at peace forever, safely home in Heaven at last. Funeral Services celebrating her life will be held 7:00PM Thursday August 11, 2011 in the Reflections Room of Pierce-Jefferson Funeral Home in Kernersville. A native of Forsyth County, she was the daughter of the late Cleo Blakley Childress and Earlie Richard Childress. She was of the Baptist faith. Sissy had worked at Southside Cafeteria, Ernie's Restaurant, and until her retirement at K&W Cafeteria at South Park. In addition to her parents, she also was preceded in death by her daughter Barbara "Peanut" Stainback, brothers James "Bud" Childress and Richard "Butch" Childress. Survivors include her son Kenneth Brown and Mari of Clemmons; sisters Lillian "Lynn" Choplin of Winston-Salem with which she made her home, Shirley Butcher of Mt. Airy, and Dorothy Sumner of Huntersville; grandchildren Mark, Staci, and Kimberlee; son-in-law Dennis Stainback; five great-grandchildren; nieces Angie McGee and Nathan, Candy Martin, Chrissy Choplin, Tammy Jollay and Tom, and Fran "Punkin" Tilley; nephews Ricky Yokley and Wendy, Ricky McKnight and Tania, and Ricky Childress; six very special great nieces and nephews Rachel, Harker, Ralee, Jeffrey, Payton, and RJ; and two very special buddies "Pepper" and "Mama". The family will visit with friends from 6-7PM in the Reflections Room prior to the service and at Candy Martin's residence 906 Hastings Hill Road in Kernersville.
