Obituary of Ethel Mae Glascoe

Kernersville-Ethel Mae Smith Glascoe, 94, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ October 26, 2011. Funeral Services celebrating her life will be held 2:30PM Saturday October 29, 2011 at Kernersville Full Gospel Mission where she was a charter member, with her son and Pastor Garland Glascoe, Rev. Doug Shuff, and Rev. Sam Carpenter officiating. Interment will follow in Gardens of Memory in Walkertown. She was born May 31, 1917 in Forsyth County, and was the daughter of the late Margaret Banner and Jasper Eugene Smith. She was the most wonderful Mom, MawMaw, sister, and friend to all who knew her. In addition to her parents, she also was preceded in death by her loving husband Troy Grant Glascoe, a daughter Shirley G. Hotham and a son Troy Eugene Glascoe. She also was preceded in death by her brothers Dick, Charlie, Ed, Pete, her sister who lived with her for over 40 years Merlene Margaret Smith, and her son-in-law Laddie Bauguess. Survivors include her son Pastor Garland Glascoe and Brenda of Winston-Salem; daughters Linda Bauguess of Kernersville, and Katie Davis and Larry of East Bend; a loving daughter-in-law Linda Dare Glascoe who took care of her for 8 years; sisters Alberta Albert, and Emma Jane Wilson and A.B. "Chick" all of Kernersville; 8 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren. The family will visit with friends from 5-8pm Friday evening at the Pierce-Jefferson Funeral Home Chapel.
