Obituary of Roger Carter

Winston Salem- Roger Wayne Carter, 42, died November 4, 2011. Funeral services celebrating his life will be held 6:00pm Thursday, November 10, 2011 at Central Terrace United Methodist Church in Winston-Salem. Roger was the son of the late Barbara Allen Shamblin and Harry Leroy Carter of Charleston, WV. Roger was an avid dog lover. He will miss Bear, Schmoochie, Pumkin, Ebony, Yoo-Hoo, and Rosie. They were his babies. He was also a collector of Hot Wheels cars and Baseball cards. He also collected his favorite movies and watched them over and over. Included in his collection was his favorite movie “A Knights Tale”, of which he and his wife watched every night for 2 solid years. Roger was a great provider for his family. Survivors include his wife of 22 years Lisa Turner Carter of the home; daughter Karlissa Faith Carter of Durham; brothers Kenny Carter and Brenda of WV; Jim Carter of Winston-Salem; Craig Salisbury and Teresa of Thomasville; mother and father-in-laws Brenda and Glenn Turner of Midway; a special Aunt and Uncle Barbara and Oak Shamblin of Winston-Salem, and a multitude of family and friends. The family will visit with friends from 6:00-8:00 pm Wednesday November 9, 2011 in the Reflections Room of the Pierce-Jefferson Funeral Home.
