Obituary of Paul Stockton

Biography Kernersville-Paul Byrum Stockton, 88, passed away after several months of declining health, on November 17, 2011. Funeral Services celebrating his life will be held 1:00PM Monday November 21, 2011 at the Pierce-Jefferson Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Bobby Roberson officiating. Interment will be held Mt. Gur Cemetery. A native of Forsyth County, he was the son of the late Ada Carol Grubbs Stockton and Cornelius Lee Stockton. He served his country during WWII with the US Army. He was stationed in Belgium, Germany, and was active in the Ardennes at the Battle of the Bulge. He had lived in Louisville, Tennessee for the past 45 years. He retired from Wrangler Corporation as a truck driver following 30 years of service. He also had received numerous safe-driving Awards during his career. In addition to his parents, he also was preceded in death by his wife Juliana Weldon Woolen, sisters Trula Robbins and Jessie Holland, brothers John, Carl, William, Harvey, Ralph, and Grady Stockton. Survivors include his sister Lucille Bowman of Oak Ridge; step-daughter Susan Kasemeyer of Lenoir City, Tennessee; numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family. The family will visit with friends from 11:00 AM until time for the service on Monday at the funeral home.
