Obituary of Rose Ella Bowles

Biography Kernersville-Rose Ella Brown Bowles, 80, passed away February 1, 2012 following a lengthy illness. Funeral Services celebrating her life will be held 12:00 Noon Saturday February 4, 2012 at the Pierce-Jefferson Funeral Home Chapel. Entombment will be in Gardens of Memory in Walkertown. A native of Bland County, Virginia, Rose was the daughter of the late Ada and James Brown. A great Mother to her own children, she also was a Mother to many of the children's friends that called her "Mama Rosie". In addition to her parents she also was preceded in death by her children Naomi Bowles, J J Bowles, and Monty Bowles, sisters Mae Ola Necessary, Trula Durham, and brothers Herman, Nelson, and Ralph Brown. Survivors include her loving husband of 58 years Marvin L. Bowles of the home; daughters Debbie Cheatham and Rick of Winston-Salem, Rhonda Carter of Ararat, and Chris Bowman and Donnie of Belews Creek; nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; sister Opal Harless; and a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family. The family will visit with friends from 11:00AM until time for the service on Saturday at the funeral home.
