Obituary of Janice Taylor Walker

Kernersville-Janice Taylor Cook Walker, 64, went to be with the Lord on May 8, 2012. Funeral Services celebrating her life will be held 11:00AM Friday May 11, 2012 at the Pierce-Jefferson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Don Griffin officiating. A native of Surry County, she was the daughter of the late Tommy Thelma Callahan and Coolidge Cook. She had been employed for a number of years with the former NCNB Bank in Winston-Salem. "Nana" will be truly missed by her entire family. She had enjoyed her gardening, pier-fishing, and Bingo. Survivors include her loving husband of almost 46 years James A. Walker of Kernersville; sons Jeff Walker and Tammy, and Jason Walker and Dawn all of Kernersville; grandchildren Brandon Ward, Taylor Walker, and Jacob Walker; sisters Karen Kapp and David, and Beth Smith and Richard all of Winston-Salem; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family. The family will visit with friends from 6-8PM Thursday evening at the funeral home.
