Obituary of Mary Ellen Cooke

Biography Stokesdale-Mary Ellen Pegg Cooke, 79, went home to be with her Lord May 10, 2012. The family will visit with friends from 10:00AM until time for the service on Monday at the Pierce-Jefferson Funeral Home in Kernersville. Funeral Services celebrating her life will be held 11:00AM Monday May 14, 2012 at the Pierce-Jefferson Funeral Home Chapel in Kernersville, with Pastor Rick LeBaube officiating. Interment will follow in the Shady Grove Wesleyan Church Cemetery. A native of Guilford County, she was the daughter of the late Annie Lee Pegg and William Wesley Pegg, Sr. She was a member of Flat Rock United Methodist Church. She was a loving mother and grandmother. In addition to her parents, she also was preceded in death by her husband Julius Alvin Cooke, and her brothers Mark and Lee Pegg. Survivors include her husband A. C. Leonard SR. of Summerfield; her sons William Steven Cooke of Troy, Alabama, and Michael Hamilton Cooke and Tracy of Oak Ridge; grandchildren Jamie, Zachary, Allie, George, Rachel, and David; sister Esther Parker and Clinton of Rockingham, and Pat Murphy of Greensboro.
