Obituary of Mary Sell

Biography Walkertown-Mary Elizabeth Westmoreland Sell, 97, died peacefully at Vienna Village Retirement Home on June 12, 2012. A native of Forsyth County, she was the daughter of the late Charles Baxter (Bud) Westmoreland and Mamie Grubbs Westmoreland. She was also preceded in death by her husband William W. (Bill) Sell, her three brothers, Henry, Franklin, and Baxter Westmoreland, and one sister, Francis Idol Reavis. Survivors include her sons Robert Sell of Walkertown, Henry Sell, wife Nancy, of Winston-Salem, and daughter Julia Long, husband Duane, of Kernersville; grandchildren Robin Hancock, husband Jerry, Ronda Chapman, husband Steele, Alvin Sell, wife Kendell, and William "Monte" Long, wife Laura; and eleven great-grandchildren and one great great granddaughter. She was a graduate of Mineral Springs High School, a very active member of the church and community for over 50 years. Mary was a caring wife, Mother, and Grandmother that loved life with a passion, who loved her family time and cooking for them. The family will visit with friends from 6-8PM on Wednesday, June 13, 2012 at the Pierce-Jefferson Funeral Home in Kernersville. Graveside Services will be held 11:00AM Thursday June 14, 2012 at the Oak Grove Moravian Church. The family would like to express a special thank you to Dr. Maria E. Iruela and her assistant Ashley as well as the caregivers at Vienna Village Retirement Home.
