Obituary of Flora Jane Pyrtle

Kernersville-Flora Jane LaRue Pyrtle, 67, went home to be with her Lord September 1, 2012. Funeral Services to celebrate her life will be held in the Reflections Room of Pierce-Jefferson Funeral Home on Wednesday evening September 5, 2012 at 6:00PM. The family will visit with friends until 8PM following her service. A native of Alleghany County, she was the daughter of the late Elnora Hoppers LaRue and Tommy LaRue. She graduated from Northwest High School Class of ’63. She was married to Larry Gray Pyrtle, Sr. She worked at Adams-Mills in Kernersville for 25 years and later at Creekside Manor in Kernersville. Survivors include her daughter Samara Mabe of Kernersville; sons Larry Gray Pyrtle, Jr., Jerry Wayne Pyrtle, and Patrick Pyrtle; grandchildren Michael Matthews, Hailey Mabe, Hunter Mullins, Everette Pyrtle, Ava Pyrtle, Little Patrick Pyrtle, and Grace Pyrtle; sister Jean Gammons; and brothers Harold and Bob LaRue.
