Dear Nancy,
I was so very sorry and saddened to hear of the loss of your mother. She was not only one of the residents that I evaluated and admitted to Kerner Ridge but my memories of her go beyond that. As I read her obituary, the memories you had in there about the piano in her room brought so much back. I didn't have her as my first grade teacher at KES, but I had Catherine Fontaine, who was friends with your mother and whenever she had things in her class, she would invite our class to come in and she would play the piano as the kids sang! We would sit on the floor around the piano. I still remember some of the children who were in her class that year though! She was always such a sweet, humble, and kind resident to take care of as well. I remember how she liked her oatmeal with a little milk and her prunes chopped up in it! :) I know she loved you and I know she must have loved seeing you come in as you would so many times and assist in feeding her too. I am certain she was quite proud of you as you were of her. I hope the wonderful and loving memories that you have of her will live on in your heart forever and that you can be assured that you will meet again if you are a child of God! Thank you for letting me have the priviledge of helping to take care of her while I was a part of the KR team! You, Rich, and the family will be in my prayers, particularly tomorrow!
