Obituary of Oscar Phillips

Oscar Dallie Phillips Oscar Dallie Phillips, 85, died Thursday, September 9, 2010 at High Point Regional Hospital. Mr. Phillips was born to Mr. Grady and Mary Elizabeth Phillips. He loved Jesus and served him as choir director for many years. He also served his country during WW II in the Navy. Mr. Phillips retired from Sun Oil Company after 31 years. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 pm Sunday September 12, at True Light Baptist Church, 3711 Flint Street, Greensboro. Pastors Greg Cassady and Carl Shelton will be officiating the service. Burial will follow at Lakeview Memorial Park. Mr. Phillips is survived by his wife, K. Marie Bundick Phillips; his two daughters, Debra Phillips of Greensboro, Teresa and husband Bill Royall of Kernersville; his son, Kenneth Phillips of Raleigh; stepdaughters, Linda and husband Kelvin Gantt of Lexington, Vicki and husband Ricky Overstreet of Midway, Tami Blake of Lexington; stepsons, Norman and wife Judy Gustafson of Lexington, Ronald and wife Christina Gustafson of Lexington. Mr. Phillips is survived by 17 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren; 2 sisters, Connie and husband Charles Heffner of Greensboro, Dorothy Shelton of Aberdeen and several nieces and nephews. Mr. Phillips is preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Ruby Phillips. The family will receive friends at Lambeth~Troxler Funeral Home Saturday, September 11, from 6 ' 8 pm. The family would like to give their heart felt thanks to Dr. Sanders and the nursing staff of High Point Regional Cancer Center for their loving care to Oscar and his family.
