Obituary of James Shoffner

Mr. James D. Shoffner, 86, of Greensboro, died Monday, February 07, 2011, at his home. A graveside service will be held 2:00 pm Wednesday, February 9, at Westminster Gardens. Mr. Shoffner was born June 1, 1924, in Guilford County to Augustus and Jessie Graves Shoffner. He served in the US Army during WWII and was a supervisor for the US Postal Service Bulk Mail. He loved gardening and was an avid golfer. He was a devoted and loving husband, father, and grandfather who will be greatly missed by his friends and family. Mr. Shoffner is survived by his loving wife of over 57 years, Minnie Jordan Shoffner; daughters, Debbie (Shawn) Johnson, of Atlanta, and Sandra Shoffner, of Cincinnati; grandchildren, Matthew Johnson, of Milwaukee, Ashley (Cleve) Fann, William (Aundrea) Johnson, and Caroline Johnson, all of Atlanta; great-grandchild, Charlotte Fann.
