Obituary of Robert Allred

Robert Lee Allred, Jr., 68, passed away at Moses Cone Hospital Monday March 28 2011. Mr. Allred was born in Newport News, VA to Robert Lee and Betty Griffen Allred. He was the owner of two furniture restoration companies. He was a partner with his brother, in Stylecraft Furniture Refinishing and owner of Antique Restoration of Gibsonville which he ran out of his home. He was a very devoted member of Apple's Chapel. Services for Mr. Allred will be at 11 am Friday April 1, at Apple's Chapel Christian Church with Pastor Allen Myers officiating. Mr. Allred was preceded in death by his father, a son Steven L. Allred; his grandmother Mattie L. Ives; and a brother, James M. Allred. He is survived by his wife, Agnes T. Allred; his mother, Betty G. Wilson; his sons Darren (Rhonda) Allred, Bobby (Robin) Burney, Rodney Burney; his daughters Cindy Dail, Cathie (Larry) Cooper, Gayle Butler; a sister, Gayle Gunter; brothers, William B. Allred, E. Tommy (Saundra) Allred; 15 grandchildren with Nathaniel, Sarrah, Zachary Joshua, Allred which he and his wife raised; 9 great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 6 ' 8 pm at Apple's Chapel Christian Church on Thursday March 31 and at other times at the family's home in Gilsonville. The family would like to thank all of the Doctors and their staff for their wonderful care for Robert.
