Obituary of Rosemarie Benton

Mrs. Rosemarie Benton, 83, of Greensboro, died Saturday, May 28, 2011 at Ashton Place. A memorial service will be held 7:00 pm Thursday, at Lambeth-Troxler Funeral Home. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service. Mrs. Benton was born July 4, 1927, in Kiel, Germany to Karl and Elline Schonherr. She moved to America when she was one year old. She grew up in City Island, NY and graduated high school in Catskill, NY. September 5, 1948 she married the late Robert Benton. They were married for over 53 years. For over 30 years they spent winters in Ormond Beach, FL and summers in Lake Bomoseen, VT. Rose and Bob loved to travel and had many friends throughout the US and Europe. Mrs. Benton retired from the New York Telephone Company. After retirement they moved to Greensboro where Rose has lived for the last 20 years. Mrs. Benton is survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
