Obituary of Lawrence Hassell

Mr. Lawrence Ward Hassell, 71, of McLeansville died Thursday, July 7, 2011 at his home. A memorial service will be held 2:00 pm Sunday, at Lambeth-Troxler Funeral Home with the Reverend Jerry Strader officiating. Mr. Hassell was born in Wilmington, NC to the late Ralph Ward and Virginia Jones Hassell. He served in the US Army during Viet Nam. He loved reading, woodworking, ocean fishing and volunteer work. He was an avid NC State fan. Mr. Hassell is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Nell Thompson Hassell; granddaughter, Kayleigh Hassell and fiancée Joshua Nixon; sister, Louise Hanville and husband Michael.
