Obituary of David Shaw

Mr. David L. Shaw, 50, of Browns Summit, died Saturday, July 9, 2011, at UNC Memorial Hospital in Chapel Hill. Funeral services will be held 2:00 pm Tuesday, at Bethel Baptist Church, with the Reverend Gwyn Johnson and Reverend Lloyd Smith officiating. Burial will follow at Lakeview Memorial Park. Mr. Shaw was born September 25, 1960 in Guilford County, to David Bennett and Lorine Watson Shaw. He served in the US Army and was a member and Sound Technician at Bethel Baptist Church. He was part owner and operator of R & R Auto Care and a devoted and loving family man and friend. He served his Lord and Country faithfully. Mr. Shaw is survived by his loving wife of 20 years, Debra Smith Shaw; sons, David Wayne Shaw, of Maryland, Daniel Shaw, of Rhode Island, Kris (Angela) McArthur, and Kerry (Heather) McArthur, all of Greensboro; parents, David and Lorine Shaw, of Greensboro; parents in law, Lloyd and Juanita Smith; brothers, Phil (Isolde) Shaw, of Germany, Gary (Tracy) Shaw, of Asheboro; sister, Janet (Sammy) Adkins, of Greensboro; 8 grandchildren and faithful companions, Lady and Munchkin. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 pm Monday, at Lambeth-Troxler Funeral Home.
