Obituary of Alan Pinkelton

Alan Wade Pinkelton, 55, passed away at his home in Chapel Hill on Sunday August 28, 2011 after years of declining health. Alan was born in Guilford County on August 30, 1955 the son of Russell and Magdalene Pinkelton. He had recently retired from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with 30 years of service. He worked with the Office of University Counsel. Alan was a very good cook and enjoyed it. He made many friends with his cooking. He was also a part-time caterer. He was a avid Tar Heel fan and attended Brinkley Memorial Baptist Church and enjoyed his Sunday School Class. In addition to his parents he is survived by a brother Gary Pinkelton and wife Debbie, a niece, Ashley Pinkelton Martin and husband Chris and a nephew, Cory Alan Pinkelton. Aunt Ellen Brim and several cousins. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 pm Thursday September 1st, 2011 at Lambeth-Troxler Funeral Home Chapel. The interment will follow at Lakeview Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm Wednesday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the charity of your choice.
