Obituary of Ruby Brake

Mrs. Ruby Leona Brake, 98, of Greensboro, died Thursday, September 15, 2011 at Moses Cone Hospital. Funeral services will be held 2:00 pm Sunday at Lambeth-Troxler with the Reverend Fred Riggins officiating. Burial will follow at Lakeview Memorial Park. Mrs. Brake was born May 18, 1913, in Alabama to William and Tollie Benbow Gallops. She was married to the late I. J. Brake. In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by a granddaughter Jenny Wyrick. Mrs. Brake is survived by her daughters, Mary Brake and Nell Botts; sons, William (Michelle) Brake, Gerald Brake, Richard (Linda) Brake, David (Cindy) Brake and Carl (Mary) Brake; sisters, Mammie Emmons and Sybil Parker; brother, Calvin Gallops; 17 grandchildren, 42 great-grandchildren and 6 great-great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 pm Saturday at Lambeth-Troxler Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to Eastern Gate Assemblies of God, 214 E. Vandalia, Greensboro, NC 27406.
