Obituary of Betty Parrish

Mrs. Betty Jean Parrish, 75, of Greensboro, died Sunday, December 11, 2011 in Houston Texas. Funeral services will be held 2:00 pm Saturday, December 17, 2011 at Lambeth-Troxler Funeral Home, with the Reverends Mitchell Goodwin officiating. Burial will follow at Lakeview Memorial Park. Mrs. Parrish was born in Guilford County April 8, 1936, to Parley and Helen Reed Smith. She was a member of Aycock Ministries and retired from Bank of America. She was a Pastor's wife for 11 ½ years, sang with the Aldergate 'Young At Heart' rhythm band. She was devoted to her church, a dedicated musician and very talented Piano player of Southern Gospel Music. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of over 40 years, Reverend Lester Parrish (of Gospel for the World), and a son Lester Parrish Jr. She is survived by her daughters, Brenda Roof (Terry), Delores 'Lori' Hunt-Phelps (Jody), Vicky Gough (Larry) and Sonja Wright (Richard); sons, Tim Parrish (Cindy), Dale Parrish-Roof (Dee) and Danny Parrish (Christine); daughters-in-law, Shelby Parrish and Laura Parrish Marks; a host of grandchildren in Texas, Missouri, Florida, North Carolina, Tennessee, Kansas, South Carolina, and Virginia.
