Obituary of Cornelius Beverly

Mr. Cornelius B. 'Corky' Beverly, 76, of Brown Summit, died Saturday, December 24, 2011 at his home. A graveside service will be held 2:00 pm Thursday, December 29th at Lakeview Memorial Park, with the Reverend Gwyn Johnson officiating. Mr. Beverly was born November 2, 1935, in Guilford County to Cordie and Mary Stevens Beverly. He retired from Cone Mills after 50 years of service. He was a member of Bethel Baptist Church and Monroeton Golf Course where he enjoyed life and fellowship. He was preceded in death by the love of his life, Marilyn Sue Nuckles Beverly. Mr. Beverly is survived by his daughters, Jan Deaton (Paul), Sherry Beverly, and Lorrie Fogleman (Rus); son, Terry Beverly (Cindy); sisters, Jannie Cassell, Martha Ellington, and Darlene Smith; brother, JC Beverly; grandchildren, Nash, Justin, Ashley, and Scott; great-grandchildren, Alley and Aiden and his beloved cat 'Oakie'. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 pm Wednesday, at Lambeth-Troxler Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to Bethel Baptist Church, 2230 Lees Chapel Road, Greensboro, NC 27405.
