Obituary of Elmer Stevens

Mr. Elmer Stevens, Jr., 66 of Brown Summit, went home to be with the Lord Wednesday, May 9, 2012, after a brave three year battle with cancer. Funeral services will be held 11:00 am Saturday, at True Light Baptist Church, with the Reverends Greg Cassidy and Lloyd Day officiating. Burial will follow at Lakeview Memorial Park. Mr. Stevens was born February 16, 1946, in Washington DC to the late Elmer and Ruth Miller Stevens. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and dear friend. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Paul Stevens. Mr. Stevens is survived by his wife of 49 years Lynda B. Stevens; daughter, Robin Stevens; son, James Stevens (Gidget); mother-in-law, Nell Cross Baldwin; grandchildren, Tony Rodriquez, Daniel Stevens, Dylan Stevens, and Andrew Stevens; sister, Elizabeth Lyle. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 pm Friday at Lambeth-Troxler Funeral Home.
