Obituary of Anne Beeler

Anne Chadeayne Boise Beeler died July 9, 2012 at Friends Home in Greensboro. She was born in London, United Kingdom, on March 12, 1925 and raised in Kent. She was preceded in death by her husband, John H. Beeler, Emeritus Professor of History, University of North Carolina Greensboro; her father, Charles Watson Boise; her mother, Hazel Crawford Boise; her sister, Mary Boise Cifelli, her brother Charles Boise; and family friend, David McKinney. She is survived by daughter Hazel E. Beeler (Michael Kuric) of Newport, Virginia; and sons John F. Beeler (Sharony Green) of Tuscaloosa, AL; and Nicholas M. Beeler (Susan Circone), and grandson Paul of Lake Oswego, OR; and friend, Susan Wheeler of Asheville, NC. Beeler received an undergraduate degree at Stanford University in Stanford, California, and went on to earn a doctoral degree in Political Science at Cornell University. In 1950, she and her husband moved to Greensboro where they raised their three children. She was an avid lover of classical music, flowers, Norfolk terriers and British mystery novels. Beeler was a member of the Presbyterian Church of the Covenant in Greensboro where she taught Sunday school for many years. She will be loved and missed by her family and friends. In lieu of flowers, please send donations in her name to organizations she supported; among them the Piedmont Land Trust, the Smithsonian, and the National Parkinson Foundation. Lambeth-Troxler Funeral & Cremation Service is handling Beeler's cremation. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
