Obituary of Joy Bell Blackmon

Mrs. Joy Bell Blackmon, 88, of Greensboro, died Thursday, July 4, 2013 at her home. Funeral services will be held 2:00 pm Monday, at Lambeth-Troxler Funeral Home, with the Reverend Michael Barrett officiating. Burial will follow at Lebanon Baptist Church Cemetery. Mrs. Blackmon was born in Guilford County February 13, 1925 to Dewey and Mattie Wilson. She was married to the late Daniel Blackmon and a member of Pentecostal Holiness Church. She was a loving and devoted mother and grandmother. Mrs. Blackmon is survived by her daughters, Brenda Allred (Garnie) and Katherine "O'Neil" Lundy (Leonard); sons, Phillip Blackmon and Gary Wayne Blackmon Sr. (Marty); several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 pm Sunday, at Lambeth-Troxler Funeral Home.
