Obituary of Ronald Leon Kubikowski

Ronald Leon Patrick Kubikowski of Summerfield, Florida and formerly from Monroe and Brooklyn, New York, passed away after a brief illness at the age of 83. The son of Joseph and Stanislawa (Golas) Kubikowski, he grew up in Brooklyn, New York and served overseas in the U.S. Army during the Korean conflict. After joining the New York State Police as a Uniformed Trooper in 1957 and being assigned to various barracks across the state, Ronnie settled down to begin his life stationed with Troop F in Monroe, New York in 1958. At the Monroe Diner, Ronnie met who would become the love of his life (Christine); a counter waitress. Ronnie spent the next forty-plus years of his life with his family in Monroe, New York before retiring to Summerfield, Florida in 1998. Ronnie retired as an Investigator with the New York State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation in 1977, and was stationed during his career at Troops, A, K, and F, as well as Division Headquarters, Albany, New York. Ronnie is also a retired dispatcher from Carpenter & Smith in Monroe, New York. Ronnie is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Christine (Korbelak) Kubikowski, sons Joseph R. Kubikowski and his wife Robin of Hopewell Junction, New York, and Gregory Kubikowski and his wife Eileen of Ridgewood, New Jersey, as well as his daughter Laura J. Leary and her husband Bill of Apex, North Carolina. He was blessed, deeply loved, and proud of his ten grandchildren: Rachael Kubikowski of New York City, Matthew and Sarah Kubikowski of Hopewell Junction; Gregory, Connor, Luke, and Jillian Kubikowski of Ridgewood; and Kevin, Christine and Kate Leary of Apex. Ronnie is also survived by his sister-in-law Terry Flynn-Koontz and her husband Bill of Summerfield, Florida and pre-deceased by his parents and brother, Joseph T. Holden of Pasadena, California. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, July 23rd at St. Anastasia R.C. Shrine Church, 21 North Main Street, Harriman, New York, followed by interment in St. Anastasia Cemetery.
