Obituary of Edna Morphis

Mrs. Edna Brandon Morphis, 94, of Greensboro, died Friday, November 13, 2009, at Blumenthal's Jewish Nursing Home. Funeral services will be 2:00 pm, Monday, at Lawndale Baptist Church, with Dr. Joe Giaritelli and Reverend Marion Boling officiating. Burial will follow at Lakeview Memorial Park. Mrs. Morphis was born in Guilford County, August 2, 1915, to the late Grover and Elizabeth Marshall Brandon. She was married to the late Lee Raine Morphis. She is a member of Lawndale Baptist Church and past member of 16th Street Baptist Church, where she was sang in the choir and worked with the children. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Virginia Kelly. Mrs. Morphis is survived by her daughter, Nancy M. Stas and husband Mike, of Greensboro; son, Danny A. Morphis and wife Mary Jo, of Burlington; brothers, Elmo Brandon, of Kernersville and Harold Brandon, of Atlanta GA; 10 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, and 5 great-great-grandchildren.
