Obituary of William Troxler

-- View a Video -- William Troxler Mr. William D'Arcy Troxler, 81, of Greensboro, died Wednesday, December 2, 2009, at Moses Cone Hospital. Funeral services will be held 11:00 am Saturday, in the chapel of First Baptist Church, with Dr. Steve Pressley officiating. Burial will follow at Westminster Gardens. Mr. Troxler was born in Guilford County, August 8, 1928, to Fred and Irene Troxler. He was a member and deacon at First Baptist Church, and a member of the Armathean Sunday School Class. He and his wife Elsa, were members and very active for over 30 years in the Tanglefoots Square Dance Club. He loved to play golf and enjoyed being with his golfing buddies. He was a Scout Master for many years. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, William (Billy) D'Arcy Troxler Jr. and a brother, Jim Troxler. Mr. Troxler is survived by his wife of 59 years, Elsa Garrity Troxler; daughter, Barbara Troxler Brown, and husband David Patrick; grandchildren, Jennifer Rose Brown, William Henson Brown, and Benjamin Don Brown; sisters-in-law, Jean Garrity Leary, and Betty Ray Troxler; brother-in-law, John W. Stupak and wife Michelle; several wonderful nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8:30 pm Friday, at Lambeth-Troxler Funeral Home.
