Obituary of Betty Shoe

Greensboro, NC Betty Campbell Shoe, 78 , of Greensboro passed away Tuesday December 15, 2009 at Moses Cone Hospital. Betty was born in Randolph County on March 23, 1931 the daughter of Sam and Vallie Osborn Campbell. She was formerly employed as an office manager with John Fluke and was a member of Lees Chapel United Methodist Church. Betty was an active member of the Ladies Auxiliary of Oriental Shrine Club where her volunteer services supported the Shriners Hospital. She enjoyed people and was especially fond of children. Betty was preceded in death by her daughter Deena Passmore. Surviving are her husband Banner Shoe, Jr. of the home; a daughter Terrie Pearce (Jay) of Greensboro; a son Banner Shoe III of Kentucky; two sisters Judy Kulakowski of Pauley's Island, SC and Linda Kelly of Greensboro; five grandchildren Jeremy Passmore, Jaime Williams, Elizabeth Fleming, Lindsay Arnold and Alexandra Pearce; and two great-grandchildren, Aspen Fleming and Kenan Fleming. A celebration of life service will be held at 11 am Friday in the chapel of Lambeth Troxler Funeral Service by Darrell L. Hayden. Interment will be in Gilmore Memorial Park, Julian, NC. The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm Thursday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers the family asks that memorials be made to Shriners Hospital for Children 950 West Faris Rd.
