Obituary of Bettie Haney

Reidsville Mrs. Bettie C. Haney, 86, of 347 Donathan Rd, died Sunday , December 27, 2009 at Ashton Place Health and Rehabilitation in McLeansville. Mrs. Haney's funeral will be held 11:00am Wednesday December 30, 2009 at Hillcrest Baptist Church with Pastor Larry Pugh officiating. Interment will follow at Lakeview Memorial Park. Bettie was born in Cumberland County, on December 20, 1923 to the late Johnie and Lanis Davis Carty. She was retired from P. Lorillard Inc, and was a member of Hillcrest Baptist Church. She is preceded in death by her sisters, Lucy Bell Carty, Bonnie E. Carty and Mary Evelyn Robbins; brothers Charlie Carty and Vance Carty. Survivors include her husband Paul E. Haney of the home , daughter Paulette H. Snyder and husband Lindsey of Reidsville, four sisters, Hazel C. Everhart, Macy C. Gregory, Agnes C. Roberts, Lela C. Lunsford, three brothers, W. Jasper Carty, Johnnie H. Carty, R. Herman Carty; two grandchildren Carla S. Smith and husband Jackie, Kelly McCorquodale and husband Nick; five great-grandchildren , Katherine McCorquodale, Houston McCorquodale, Jackie Smith III, Kaylee Smith and Kacie Smith, also surviving are her beloved grand dogs, Camela and Tricky Do. The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm Tuesday December 29, 2009 at Lambeth-Troxler Funeral Home. Out of respect for her love of companion animals the family request instead of flowers that donations be made to the Rockingham County Animal Shelter Campaign P.O. Box 206, Wentworth, NC 27375. The family wishes to thank Dr. Edwin Avbuere and the staff at Alpha Clinics, PA and Dr. Carmen Dohmeier, MD and the staff at Guilford Neurologic Associates for their guidance,care,and compassion during Mrs.Haneys illness.
