Obituary of Ella Shores

Miss Ella Mae Shores, 80, of Greensboro, went to her heavenly home on Tuesday, December 29, 2009. A graveside service will be held 11:00 am Saturday, January 2nd, at Lakeview Memorial Park. Miss Shores was born May 23, 1929, in Guilford County to the late John Wesley Shores and Ora Owen Shores. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her brothers, Paul W. Shores and John O. Shores. She was a former member of 16th Street Baptist Church and a graduate of Catawba College. After graduation she worked many years in Washington DC as a manager in food services. Upon returning to Greensboro she worked as a Lab Technician at Cone Mills Research & Development. She was an award winning cook, an avid seamstress, and member of the Red Hats Club at the Carillon. Miss Shores is survived by her brother, Louis W. Shores, of Greensboro; sisters, Sarah S. Towle and husband George of High Point, and Rachel S. Ferguson, of Peachtree City, GA; as well as many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, and many loving friends.
