Obituary of Cenobia Thorp

Cenobia Thorp age, 71 passed away January 6, 2010 at Moses Cone Hospital. A memorial service will be held 4:30 pm Saturday January 9, 2010 at Lambeth-Troxler Funeral Chapel with Donald Neas officiating. Mrs. Thorp was born September 13, 1938 in Guilford County, NC to Sam and Irene Vernon Lawrence. She was a member of Flat Rock United Methodist Church and was retired from Southern Optical. A devoted mother, grandmother, sister and friend she will be dearly missed. Survivors include her husband Ronald James Thorp, two sons; Michael Shane Thompson, Sr. and wife Beverly, Alan Gene Thompson and wife Susan; step daughters Jacquelyne Smith and husband Charles, Marion Ingram and husband Michael; sister Patsy L. Rumley and husband Kenneth, brother Sam Lawrence and wife Yvonne; grandchildren ; Michael Shane Thompson, Jr, Cenobia Irene Thompson, Misty Rose Thompson Sizemore, David Alan Thompson and wife Rebekah, Ann Marie Joyce, Randy Lois William, David William Patterson and wife Amber , Sarah Elizabeth Sheppard and husband Philip , six great-great grandchildren; and two nephews Kyle Lawrence and wife Tara and Joe Joyce The family will receive friends from one hour prior to the service at Lambeth-Troxler Funeral Home In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association , Guilford County Chapter 202 CentrePort Drive, Greensboro, NC 27409 Lambeth-Troxler Funeral Home is assisting the Thorp family.
