Obituary of Ruth Matthews Thomas

Mrs. Ruth Matthews Thomas 71, died peacefully, Wednesday, Jan 13,2010, at home. A memorial service will be held at Florida Street Baptist Church, Friday, Jan 15 at 2:00 pm, conducted by Rev Robert L Glasgow and Rev Charles Howell. A native of Greensboro, N.C., Mrs. Thomas was the daughter of the late Alfred C Matthews and Rebecca Emerson Matthews. She was a life long member of Florida Street Baptist Church. She retired from the Social Security Administration after 42 years of service. Mrs. Thomas was also an employee of Sears Call Center and a part-time employee of Dillard's Department Store. She is survived by her husband of 52 years William E Thomas, daughter, Rhonda T. Johnson, son William Bradley Thomas, and wife Brenda, grandchildren Jennifer and Joshua Johnson, great-granddaughter, Alexa, twin sister, Janice M. Holder, and brother, A.C. (Buddy)Matthews II and wife Phyllis.
