Obituary of Mary Bowden

Mrs. Mary N. Bowden, 81, went to be with her Lord on January 31, 2010, at Wesley Long Palliative Care. We would like to thank the Palliative Care Team for the wonderful care they gave to her in her last days and the comfort they gave the family Funeral services will be held 2:00 pm Thursday, at Shining Light Baptist Church with Pastor Jimmy Dillon and Associate Pastor Billy McDaniel officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8:30 Wednesday, at Shining Light Baptist Church. Mary was a resident at Adams Farm Living and Rehab prior to her passing. We would like to send our deepest gratitude to the Care givers and staff for taking care of her while she was there. Mary worked at Jeanette Maternity until she retired. She was a faithful member of Shining Light Baptist Church. She loved going to church and loved all her church members. Rev. Jimmy Dillon was a special pastor to her and to our family. She will be missed dearly by her family and friends. She has a new home, new body and is no longer in pain. She is at peace. Mary was preceded in death her parents, one son, threes sisters, and three brothers. Mary was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She leaves behind, her loving husband Ray Bowden; daughter, Renee Bunton and husband Sam; two sons, Danny Hunt, Steve Hunt and wife Betty; six grandchildren, David and Jennifer Bunton, Tina and Robbie Hooker, Angie Hunt, Michael, Kenny Ray (and wife)and Tommy Bowden. Nine great-grandchildren, Trever Bunton, Kaley and Miranda Hooker, Austin and Savannah Hunt, Brittany, Chase, Nathan Bowden and Joann Elizabeth Bowden.
