Obituary of Clara Clark

Mrs. Clara Hayes Clark, 97, went home to be with her Lord on Monday June 28, 2010 at Moses Cone Hospital. Funeral services will be held 1:00 pm Thursday July 1, 2010 at Stevens Memorial Baptist Church with Reverend Dennis Taber and Reverend Jack Morris officiating. Burial will follow at Lakeview Memorial Park. Mrs. Clark was a former member of Sixteenth Street Baptist Church for 82 years and was presently a member of Stevens Memorial Church where she loved her church and church family. She was retired from Belk Department Store after 20 years of service. A loving and devoted, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, her greatest pleasure was spending time with her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed cooking and treating everyone with her wonderful meals. In addition to her parents; James and Margaret Hayes she is preceded in death by her husband; Carl T. Clark; a brother Edgar Hayes and a grandson Kevin Sawyer. Survivors include two daughters; Betty Frederick and fiancé C.J. Meredith, Barbara Sawyer and one son Carl T. Clark, Jr and wife Annette, five grandchildren , ten great grandchildren and six great-great grandchildren. In lieu of flowers the family request memorials made to Stevens Memorial Baptist Church, 3001 North Church Street, Greensboro, NC 27405. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 7-9 pm at Lambeth-Troxler Funeral Service
