Obituary of Goldie Marie McCurdy Jones

Mrs. Goldie Marie McCurdy Jones, 83, of Kernersville, NC passed away peacefully Friday, March 1, 2024.

A native of Westmoreland County, PA, Goldie was the wife of 65 years to C. Eugene "Gene" Jones and the daughter of Clarence “Bud” McCurdy and Mary Bordell McCurdy, both deceased. Goldie loved the Lord, was faithful to church, and she loved music and singing.

Survivors include her husband, Gene; two daughters, Sharon Lane and husband, Frankie, and Debbie Baker and husband, Morgan; ten grandchildren, Beth White and husband, Kevin, Adam Pope and wife, Amy, Ashley Pope, Caleb Lane and wife, Hannah, Zachary Baker and wife, Allison, Rebekka Baker, Nathan Drew Baker, Levi Baker, and Isaac Baker; nine great grandchildren; three sisters, Delores Gindlesperger, Bernice Johnson, and Carol Peters and husband, Rev. Charles Peters; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Goldie was preceded in death by her grandson, Gideon Baker.

Funeral services celebrating her life will be held at 2:00PM Monday, March 4, 2024, at Smith Grove Baptist Church, Colfax, NC with Rev. Charles Peters officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will greet friends from 1:00PM to 2:00PM Monday prior to the service at the church.
