Wendi Meta Wales was born to Meta and Walter Wahl on January 18, 1975, in Wall Township, New Jersey.

Wendi is survived by her husband, (Derek) of Stokesdale NC; her parents (Meta and Wally) of Wall Township, New Jersey; brother (Kirt), nephew (Connor) and niece (Reilly) of Point Pleasant, New Jersey. She is also survived by her in-laws (Mel and Jack) of Concord, North Carolina. In addition, Wendi is survived by countless friends and loved ones around the country.

After graduating from Greensboro College, Wendi worked at Truist (BB&T) for the past 25 years, most recently as Vice President of Commercial Community Bank Technology Enablement team.

Wendi was most known for her beautiful, endless smile and infectious laugh. She thrived and got energy from being around people and she never met a stranger. She and Derek loved attending Wake Forest games, spending time on their boat, going for long drives with the windows down, and road tripping to the beach. Wendi seized the moment to make life enjoyable and fun with those around her, especially her niece and nephew and all the kids she called her own. “Aunt Wendi” loved on them and made it her priority to be a vital role in their lives. She could often be found attending special events, playing card games, or simply listening to them.

Right up until the very end, Wendi was sprinkling her kindness to all those around her, including the nursing staff providing her care. She leaves behind a big hole to all those who knew her, but she will continually be remembered with each beautiful sunset as a reminder of the love she so freely gave to others.
