Obituary of Patsy Lee McMillan

Patsy Lee McMillan crossed to the other side of the veil on June 14, 2023, in Sandy, Utah. She was born on September 26, 1944, in Tazewell, Virginia, to the late Vanam Clifton Roark and Carrie Ellen Goodman Roark. She spent most of her childhood on a 47-acre farm in Tazewell that she (and her kids) loved. She had a beautiful singing voice and loved to sing in her younger years. Friends always commented on her beautiful smile. She also loved gardening and listening to the birds. Animals were another passion of hers; some of the animals she grew up with were horses (Sid and Sugar), a lamb (Sugar), and a dog (Shep). Her last cat, Romney, stayed with her during her final hours. Patsy also loved to write poetry and short stories, for which she won many awards. She also loved to research genealogy. Much of her research has been passed on to her daughter to continue her work. Patsy was preceded in death by her husband, James Dye McMillan…with whom we are sure she is happily reunited right now. She was also predeceased by her parents and her sister, Judy Roark Dorton. She is survived by her four children: Debbie (Mark) Trosper, Trish (Luis) Lopez, Dawn (John) Furler, and Patrick (Erin) McMillan. She is also survived by six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. The family would like to give special thanks to Harmony Home Health & Hospice for the superb care, kindness, and love they showed to Patsy. Interment will be at the Salisbury National Cemetery in North Carolina. The graveside service will be held as a private ceremony.
