Obituary of Winona Thompson Nelson

Winona Anne Thompson Nelson, 82, of Kernersville, NC, passed away peacefully Tuesday, June 13, 2023.

A native of Guilford County, NC, Winona was the wife of the late Jefferson Lee Nelson and the daughter of Samuel Raeford Thompson and Julia Kathleen Nelson Thompson, both deceased. Survivors include her daughter, Julie Robins; and brother, Joseph N. “Joe” Thompson.

Funeral services celebrating her life will be held at 2:00PM Tuesday, June 20, 2023, at the Pierce-Jefferson Funeral Services Kernersville Chapel. Interment will follow at New Garden Cemetery, Greensboro, NC. The family will greet friends from 1:00PM to 2:00PM Tuesday prior to the service at the funeral home.
