Obituary of Marion Colosimo Jones Ferraro
Our beloved “Micki” peacefully passed away on February 17, 2023 at her residence in Greensboro, North Carolina. A native of Fairmont, West Virginia, she spent her early years growing up in Cleveland, Ohio. Marion was born December 17,1937 to the late Emilio and Lucy (Wish) Colosimo.
She is survived by her beloved sister and best friend, Joan (Joanne) Harlick of Arlington Heights, Illinois. Throughout Micki’s 85 years of life, Joanne and Micki communicated endlessly, supporting each other with love.
Additionally, Micki is survived by her three children, Glenn Ferraro, Sheryl Barcic (Joseph), and Lori Mason (Tom). Her grandchildren include Missy, Clay, Nathan, Crystal, Andrea, Brent, Gena and their respective spouses. She is also survived by 12 great grandchildren.
She has numerous other surviving family members including nieces and nephews throughout the country.
She was predeceased by siblings Samuel, Bernice, Sandy, and Emil.
Micki had an entrepreneurial spirit from an early age. With financial and construction assistance from her mother and siblings, she opened an extremely successful beauty parlor in Parma, Ohio, when she was 19 years old.
She later met and married Eugene Ferraro in 1970. They lived in Columbus, Ohio; Fayetteville, North Carolina; and Greensboro, North Carolina. During that time they opened and operated Hallmark Card stores in North Carolina (Micki’s Hallmark in Friendly Center). They were the epitome of a team in life, love, family, and business.
After Eugene’s death, Micki then was introduced to Charles Jones of Greensboro. They had a very loving, vibrant marriage until Charlie’s passing in 2018.
Over the years, Micki was involved in many activities including bridge, tennis, golf, bowling, volunteering at the hospital, poker, and gin rummy. She was happiest when entertaining family and friends at her beloved home. She was constantly on the go and led a very active lifestyle until the very end. She is revered and will be missed by so many.
Memorial Services celebrating her life will be held 10AM Friday, February 24 at Pierce-Jefferson Lambeth Chapel with Rev. Don Clement officiating.
