Obituary of Mae Orr Whitaker

Mae Orr Whitaker passed away on October 7, 2022, at the age of 101 in Clemmons N. C.
She was born on September 10, 1921 in Henderson County, N. C. to Dora Anderson Orr and Dudley Orr. She was the last surviving member of their nine children.

Mae is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Kay and Jim Chesson; her daughter, Suzanne Lytle; three grandchildren, Jeff Chesson (Casey), Brian Chesson (Ashley), and Emily Enojado (Shawn). We remember her beloved grandson, Chris Lytle. There are four great grandchildren, Scott, Dorothy, Mary Mae and Emerson. There are many nieces, nephews and extended family remaining.

A graveside service will be held 2:00PM Saturday, October 22, 2022, at the Main Street United Methodist Church Cemetery in Kernersville, N. C. with Rev. Dr. Michael J. Gehring and Rev. David Raiford officiating.

In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials be made to Main Street United Methodist Church, 306 S. Main Street, Kernersville, N.C. 27284. Please note in the memo line, “Mae Whitaker Memorial”. Masks are requested.
