Daphne Brooks

Obituary of Daphne Corisande Brooks

Our beloved wife, mother, sister, aunt, and grandmother Daphne Corisande Brooks ran into the loving arms of our Lord Jesus Christ on Saturday March 5th while surrounded by her family. Her struggle against multiple myeloma is finally over. Daphne was a shining beacon of light, the warmth of her glow filled those around her with both compassionate tenderness and immaculate forgiveness. As an ambassador of Jesus Christ, Daphne never missed a chance to spread His love to everyone around her. Daphne blossomed into a classically trained opera singer, performing in five different languages and appearing in competitions statewide by the age of 14. When her voice rose through the Grimsley High School choir, all others fell silent in awe. The beauty of her dulcet tones brought others to tears. Daphne cherished the unity and comfort of family above all else. As both a mother and a central pillar of love, she brought everyone together. Her skills in the kitchen outclassed all others. The divine allure of her creamy cheesecake will live forever. Her father imbued her with a passion for gardening, ensuring her yard stayed filled with brilliantly cultivated flowers. Her mother granted her an affinity with birds and small animals. The gentle spirit of her inherited "animal magic" kept them close, as they were to her heart. When Daphne and her future husband first met they instantly realized how perfect they were together. Her husband Kenny always said it was love at first sight! Daphne is survived by her true love and husband of 36 years, Kenny, and her children Thomas Nance II (Michelle), Darryl Lowe, Devon Lowe, and Conrad Brooks. Additionally, she is survived by her grandchildren, Brianna, Taylor, Maralynn, Jaxson, Branson, Scarlett, and Morgan; her sister, Valarie Fitz-Gerald, and niece Alexandra. She was predeceased by her parents, Thomas and Maralynn Nance, and is now happily reunited with them in the blissful paradise of Heaven.
