My deepest condolences to the family of Elly Fornasier.
Elly was a gentle and kind soul who bore her life obstacles with grace and gratitude.
Although I had not seen her in years, I have always included her in my prayers. She will be missed, but she is now in a better place with her parents, Manuel and Rubia.
It was a pleasure to have met her in my life because her fighting spirit encouraged me in my own struggles.
May she finally rest in peace.

Elly was in our prayer group at St. Leo and had become a dear friend. We lost touch when I moved up north. I have kept her in my prayers as she had asked me to do. I will continue to pray for her and the members of her family. Eternal rest grant unto her, O Lord.

Elly was a gentle soul who will be missed by all who were fortunate to know her.
I remember her fondly as a childhood friend with whom I have many treasured memories. I especially remember snowy days when we played outside with Maria Eugenia and later went inside to be given hot chocolate by Rubia.
I give my sincere condolences to Manuel, Tony, Darian and their families.
May she rest in peace and rise in Glory!

St. Paul wrote that, while the outward man is withering away, the inward man is being renewed every day. God gave Elly the grace to deal with the health issues that she had to bear and she was someone many people looked up to, felt encouraged by, and treasured. She had a disciplined prayer life, a warm and caring spirit that carried over to her friends, her love for her sweet kitty, Theresa, as well as her love for gardening. She was most at home, I think, in the outdoors, wearing her wide brimmed hat and gardening shoes. No one could match her energy. A lot of people are very grateful for her help, including me. Love to you Elly, your friends and family - whoever and wherever they are- Marsha Baker

My first memory of Elly is as a bright, quiet, gentle, and kind student at Bishop McGuinness High School. Elly was two years ahead of me. Later during my ministry at St. Benedict the Moor I recall Elly attending daily Mass and on some days planting flowers around the church. As I continued in ministry at St. Leo I recall seeing Elly at Mass and once again taking care of some of the beautiful arrangements on the parish grounds. I extend my sincerest condolences!
God's blessings of peace,
Sister Larretta Rivera-Williams, RSM
