It was in 1970 when Marion, Ron and Trudy's daughter invited me to a party at their home in Greensboro i first met her Father Ron. I am from England too so it was thought I would enjoy knowing someone from home. Yes Trudy and Ron were right and soon after I became good friends with the Marion and the family. They considered me as another daughter. I attended many holiday gatherings get together's and tea's there after. Ron was so funny and always had wise cracks and little very cockney things to say. Ron called Marion and I, "Mutt and Jeff", English characters that were very different but special friends. Always made me feel very welcome.
Later in Ron's life after he retired, his second wife had passed by then. I would go to his home with Marion to visit him for tea. Then after again after he moved to Hillsborough NC. Marion and Michael would have him visit and invite Glen and I to tea at their home. He loved his pets and sometimes came to visit for tea at our house so he could see our dogs and cats since he wasn't able to have them with him anymore.
I am going to miss dear Ron and his very English ways and sense of humor. Forever he will be etched in my memory fondly, and very much apart of my last 48 years of growing up in America .
Blessings to him, May he be at peace.
With fond memories.
