Obituary of Sudie Wall Doggett
Sudie Wall Doggett, age 93, passed away on Tuesday June 19, 2018 at Trinity Ridge in Hickory
surrounded by her loving family. What a celebration she is having with her savior Jesus Christ and her family and friends. She is finally able to walk and even run after being robbed of that by Parkinson’s.
Born November 2, 1924 in Rockingham County she was the daughter of the late Thomas Albert
Wall and Flossie Draper Wall. She graduated from Bethany High School in 1942. After
graduation she worked for Dupont in Martinsville Va. making nylon for parachutes. During WWII
(1944) she married the love of her life Julius Doggett. They were able to celebrate 65 years of
marriage. After WWII they moved to Greensboro where they worked and started a family.
She worked for Vick Health Care Products then Proctor and Gamble after the name changed for
35 years retiring in 1986. Eventually her health caused her to move to Shelby NC to be near
her daughter. Sudie was known by many as being an an excellent cook and seamstress. She loved her
church family at Morehead United Methodist Church in Greensboro. She was active in the
United Methodist Women, women's Sunday School class, and various church committees.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death her husband Julius Rome Doggett and by
two sisters, Dessie Caudle and Nellie Brinkley, and two brothers Ralph Wall and Thomas Wall.
She is survived by sons, Don Doggett and wife Gwyn , of Holden Beach, Steve Doggett, and
fiance Brittany of Whitsett and daughter Joyce King and husband Ronnie of Lawndale.
Grandchildren, Don Doggett Jr. and wife Lisa of Los Gatos, California, Brian Doggett and wife
Stephanie of Kingsport Tenn., Shane Doggett of Greensboro, Jordan Doggett of Greensboro,
Julie Doggett of Eden, Hunter King of Fort Wayne Indiana and Haley King of Fishersville Va.
and eight great grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held Friday June 22 at 10:00 am at Lakeview Memorial Park
followed by a celebration of life service at 12 P.M. at Morehead United Methodist Church, Greensboro with Rev. Veranita Alvord, and the Rev. Dr. Bryant Wilbourne officiating. The family will receive friends following the service in the church fellowship hall. Online condolences can be made at www.lambethtroxlerfuneralhome.com.
