Obituary of Alfred Hemphill

Winston-Salem - Alfred Johnnie Hemphill, 88, went home to be with his Lord January 13, 2011. Funeral Services celebrating his life will be held 12:00PM Friday January 21, 2011 at the Pierce-Jefferson Funeral Home Chapel in Kernersville with Apostle Theophilus Jones officiating. Interment will follow in the New Evergreen Cemetery. A native of Mecklenburg County, he was the son of the late Augustus Hemphill and Marylene Barber Hemphill. He was a barber at the Sanitary Barbershop in Winston-Salem. He was a US Navy WWII Veteran. Alfred was married to the late Eleanor Lyerly Hemphill who died in 1968. Survivors include his daughters Brenda Frazier and her husband Marion of Dumont, New Jersey and Sylvia Douthit of Lake Mary, Florida; granddaughters Cheryl Frazier and Tai Frazier; grandson Brandon Frazier; great-granddaughter Tatum Frazier. The family will visit with friends from 11:30AM until time for the service at the funeral home. Service Information
