Obituary of Barbara Swanson

Stokesdale-Barbara Ruth Swanson, 80, passed away peacefully June 2, 2011 at Countryside Manor where she had made her home for the past several years. Funeral Services celebrating her life will be held 4:00PM Monday June 6, 2011 at Fountain of Life Lutheran Church in Kernersville with Pastor Keith Speaks officiating. Inurnment services will be held 11:00 AM Saturday June 11, 2011 at Tucker-Quinn Funeral Home Chapel in Greenville, Rhode Island. A native of Foster, Rhode Island she was the daughter of the late Ruth Bouget Webster and William Webster. She was married to Richard George Swanson, who survives, for 45 years. She enjoyed gardening, music, motorcycle touring, but particularly loved the time spent with her family. Her children and grandchildren were the love of her life. Survivors include her husband Richard Swanson of the home; daughter Cindy Caron and Kelly of Kernersville; sons William “Bill” Grass of Rhode Island, and Stan Grass and Stacy of Sandwich, MA; grandchildren Chelsea Caron, Casey Caron, Dylan Caron, Devin Grass, and Michael Grass; step-daughter Deborah Meier and Mike of Attleboro, MA; step-sons Richard Swanson, Jr. and James Swanson both of Warwick, RI; step-grandchildren Adam Meier, Justin Meier, Mackenzie Meier, and Casey Meier; sister Claire LaFazia and Thomas of Johnston, RI. The family will visit with friends immediately following the service at the church on Monday.
